My mom, Sang Rae CHOI was born on April 1, 1915 to a Korean
immigrant family in Nagoya. She lived
for more than 100 years before being called home by God on December 4,
2016. Her life took her from Nagoya,
Japan to Kwang Ju, Korea and finally to Gardena, California in the USA. To me, she was a solid rock, tireless
teacher and persevering supporter and I can confess honestly that it was an
honor and blessing to be her daughter.
We have many values and goals in life. To my mom, one thing and one thing only was
at the top of the heap. Her identity
superseded all other priorities in life. 나는 하나님의딸! I am a daughter of
God! That was the secret to her
victorious life, her life’s motto and her confession of faith, all rolled into
one.
Proverbs 31:28 says of the woman of “Her children rise up and call her
blessed.” As her one and only one
daughter, I rise up and bless her. She
lived a full life and I look forward to the completion of her favorite hymn. “In the sweet by and by, we shall meet on
that beautiful shore!”

| No longer able to attend church, this ceramic church shaped candle holder was the next best thing. The light shining from within is a great symbol. |
